  3. Interpret your policy & advise you on what is and is not covered so that you can plan accordingly.

  4. Ensure the Insurance Adjuster that comes to your property to assess damages, does so thoroughly & forwards all appropriate documentation onto those who make coverage decisions.

6 Tips for a Successful Claim Outcome

Anchor 2

1. Know what your policy covers

Or have it ready to send to an insurance professional - paper copies are ok but those don't hold up to weather or water - try to locate (or reach out to your agent) the electronic version of your full (60+ pages) policy.

2. Contact a Claims Professional

Before filing a claim with your Insurance Company, first contact a Public Adjuster or other claims professional to assess the damages to your property & interpret your policy.

Hurricane Deductibles are often times much higher than your all other perils deductible - don't open a claim if your damages do not amount to more than your deductible.

3. Document Everything

If the storm has just passed you & you have started making repairs or mitigating damages

TAKE BEFORE & AFTER PHOTOS OR VIDEOS

of these damages!

Save receipts & any cost incurred due to storm damage.

4. Mitigate (Safely)

After the storm has passed- do your best to mitigate damages (keep from getting worse)

If you hire a professional to assist in these efforts- please refer to the next slide.

5. Ensure Licensed & Insured

If you experience door knockers, contractors, or door to door folks that want to help or sell you services MAKE SURE THEY ARE LICENSED & INSURED/ BONDED. Look up reviews & do your homework! Poor workmanship is not covered under most policies.

6. Don't Wait

If you suffer damages from the Hurricane, you are obligated to report your claim ASAP- you have only 2 years to report a Hurricane Claim in the State of Florida but as time passes after the Storm, your rights decrease.

If you're toughing the claims process out on your own - please take into consideration these tips- if you'd like assistance in this tedious & difficult process - give a Public Adjuster a call.

Let our experts help you.

We will be the calm
after the Storm

From the beginning we will document the damage to your home, show up to represent you at all inspections set up by your insurance company, handle your entire claims process, and negotiate a fair settlement under the provisions of your policy.

If you have already received payment from your Insurance Company, and you are not happy with the amount; let us review your claim free of charge to ensure that you were paid fairly and nothing was hidden or left off of the table for you. Even after a settlement has been received by an insured, Fair Claims adjusters may still be able to negotiate for a higher amount.
